ATEA has announced C K Kumaravel, entrepreneur and CEO of Naturals Salon and Spa, as a Keynote Speaker for GTEN Spring 2017 to be held in Silicon Valley on May 4, 2017.
C K Kumaravel, popularly called CKK, hails from a family which pioneered the `Sachet Economy’ in India two decades ago. Born into a business family that launched Velvette, India’s first sachet shampoo in the late 1970s, Kumaravel had worked under elder brothers CK Rajkumar, who ran the family business.
Kumaravel launched Naturals Salon in 2000. Naturals currently operates over 550 beauty salons and spas, with 220 of them in Tamil Nadu alone. 80% of the salons are opened by women entrepreneurs.
Naturals’ target is to have 3000 salons and create 1000 women entrepreneurs and 50,000 jobs by 2020. The company is working on franchise model. His goal is to make Naturals the No. 1 brand in the world by 2025. His wife, a co-founder of Naturals, Veena Kumaravel, played a key role in developing the first few salons.
