American Tamil Entrepreneurs Association’s national Board Members are prominent entrepreneurs and industry executives from the community in US. Following are the founding board members of ATEA.
Lena Kannappan is a founding board member of ATEA. Lena is a visionary leader who leads and directs the business operations for 8K Miles. He founded FuGen Solutions, a cloud identity management acquired by 8K Miles, is a serial entrepreneur with 24 years of software industry experience and also supports investments and M&A activities for 8K Miles.
Lena founded startup companies in the past in Silicon Valley including an ebusiness consulting firm and an enterprise software product company.
Lena holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, India and Bachelors in Electronics and Instrumentation from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, India.
Lena mentors and advises several startups and founders in Cloud, Security, and IoT domains.
Ram Nagappan is a founding board member of ATEA. Ram is the Chief Information Officer and a Managing Director for Pershing, a BNY Mellon company. Ram is also a member of Pershing’s Executive Committee and BNY Mellon’s Operating Committee.
Prior to joining Pershing, he was a technology consultant to Pershing, Guardian Life Insurance, Bakst International and Data Software Research Corp.
Prior to the assuming his current role, Ram also served as managing director for technology development for DLJdirect and CSFBdirect, pioneers in online Internet brokerage. He also had a significant role in establishing iNautix Technologies India Private Limited at Chennai, India.
Ram is a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Technology Advisory Committee. He has served as a member of technology advisory committees for various national securities exchanges.
Ram earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from Anna University Chennai (India). Ram was named Computerworld’s “Premier 100 IT Leaders” for 2013. Most recently, the New Jersey Technology Council named Ram “CIO of the year” for 2015.
Ram mentors and advises several startups and founders in Fintech, IoT and Enterprise software.
Paddu Govindaraj is a founding board member of ATEA. Paddu is the founder and CEO of Carevium, a Digital Health SaaS platform for elder care / senior living industry. He is a HealthTech, Digital Health, Senior Living, Enterprise solutions, and Customer acquisition and Business consulting professional with over two decades of global experience in startups, small and medium businesses, and Fortune 500 corporations.
He has architected and developed tools and Mobile / SaaS / Cloud solutions in the areas of Digital marketing, Marketing automation, Lead distribution management, Health IT, Assisted living, and Home care.
Paddu has experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, and Evangelism & Customer Engagement. Bootstrapped multiple startups in SaaS, mobile and cloud.
His current focus is on designing, building and implementing cloud and mobile solutions for Senior Living / Aging in Place / Health Care IT domains, and Digital Marketing.
He is helping early stage startups plan, validate and build their businesses. Also, advising and mentoring startups in the Health IT domain. He volunteers for mentoring TYE (TiE Young Entrepreneurs) education program participants.
