With 2018 wound down, it is time to reflect on the year gone by and look at what’s ahead in 2019.
In 2019, we are in the process of revamping our website and adding a Membership portal. You can access it from ateausa.org. We are in the process of charting the programs and events for 2019.
The year kicked-off with a MeetUp on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency on Feb. 24th in Milpitas. This event was well attended and received very well for the depth of coverage and the esteemed panel on this topic. The second GTEN-SiliconValley conference was held on May 3rd, 2018 at FalconX, Milpitas. With keynotes from M.R. Rangaswami and Sramana Mitra and a Women’s Leadership panel, this blockbuster event was a huge success. More than 300 people attended the event. Tamil entrepreneurs and delegates from across the US, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, and India (Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Chennai) were in attendance.
Following the success of the Startup Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs (held in Dec. 2017 at Google Launchpad in SFO), there was a popular demand to have a similar event for Youth. To say that the Innovation and Entrepreneurship BootCamp for Youth on June 23rd, 2018 in the Cisco Campus was a success is putting it mildly. While giving the closing keynote, author and innovator Rajesh Setty said that he was thrilled to see the passion exhibited by the Youth.
For the first time, ATEA-SV conducted a LifeSciences Meetup. The event was held at the Sheppard Mullin’s offices in Palo Alto on Sept. 8th, 2018.
Another first this year was a “Mentorship Day” on December 8th, 2018. The event kicked off with an inspiring keynote by Rajan Raghavan (CEO, Fabric) and a Fireside chat with Kumar Ganapathy (a serial entrepreneur, CEO of PrimaryIO) – conducted by Nat Natraj. This was followed by an opportunity for attendees to have near 1:1 Mentoring from highly accomplished individuals. 65+ Mentees benefited from 10+ Mentors/entrepreneurs. The photos from Mentorship Day can be seen here: http://bit.ly/ATEASV-MD18Pic.
2019 promises to be a breakout year for ATEA SV. There are several events planned including our first ATEA Women’s event, Startup pitching, a FinTech Meetup and 2nd Meetup on AI/ML topics.
We look forward to your continued participation and contribution in 2019.
